Mark Rathbone, CEO, honored by MISD
Macomb, Michigan − September 23, 2015 − PTI Engineered Plastics was honored with a Service to Schools award by the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD) for their ongoing support, leadership and commitment to the needs of students in Macomb County.
Every year the MISD celebrates public education, students and important community members who have contributed to public education in meaningful ways. Mark Rathbone, CEO, was honored for his efforts in the development of the PTI Technical Academy. This initiative, launched in 2014, introduces the fundamentals of the manufacturing industry to high school students grades 10-12, who may wish to pursue a technical career path after graduation. PTI's goal through the academy is to design and implement education and skill building programs, which will not only strengthen PTI’s workforce, but increase the skilled labor force in the community as a whole.
The breakfast ceremony was held on September 18, at the Mirage Banquet Center in Clinton Township. Accepting the award on behalf of PTI Engineered Plastics was Scott Kraemer, Directing Manager of the Technical Academy, Cheryl Kaiser, Sales & Marketing, Nancy Barrie, Director of Quality, and Barb Wrubel, Human Resources.
