Since 1969, Sonics & Materials, Inc. (Sonics®) has been manufacturing a complete line of plastics welding equipment, tooling and systems for medical device assembly. Standard equipment includes ultrasonic welding, staking and inserting machines in the 40 kHz, 20 kHz and 15 kHz frequencies (400-6000 watts) with user-friendly digital controls. Ultrasonic systems include bench model pneumatic presses, hand held units plus kits and components for OEMs. For applications requiring greater depth of weld control, Sonics’ new E-Press offers a final weld tolerance of ± 0.0003” for repeatable precision.
