Jun 29, 2017

Helmbrechts – A new CFO will join Raumedic, medical technology manufacturer and subsidiary of Rehau AG, on July 1. Bernhard Kernen will assume responsibility for finance and organization at the Helmbrechts-based company. He will replace Michael Stellwag, who left Raumedic in June 2016.

Kernen’s major responsibilities at the polymer specialist will include oversight and enhancement of financial and cost accounting, purchasing, IT, customer service, disposition and organization. The 42-year-old Kernen described his new company this way: “Raumedic is a dynamic international company in a market that is focused on the future. I am really excited about this opportunity to contribute my experience to this fascinating business and to help shape new developments.”

Kernen has held a number of commercial managerial positions at the Rehau Group. In his most recent position, the native of Switzerland oversaw the operations of the plant-extract manufacturer Anklam Extrakt as the company's Commercial Director. Before assuming these responsibilities, the college-educated business auditor held managerial positions at Rehau in Mexico and Switzerland.

Martin Bayer, the CEO of Raumedic, welcomed the CFO to the company's management team: “Bernhard Kernen has many years of international professional and managerial experience. He also takes a strategic approach to his work. All of these characteristics will help us move forward.” The CEO expects purchasing and IT to make long-range contributions to the company's success: “New IT processes and tools must be successfully implemented.” This is the only way that Raumedic AG can position itself as a top partner of its customers in terms of Industry 4.0.
