HS Design, Inc. Promotes New Vice President of Design & Engineering as Company Continues to Grow Healthcare/Medical Device Segment

HS Design, Inc. announces the promotion of Michael Quinn to the position of Vice President of Design and Engineering

(Gladstone, NJ – August 23, 2017) HS Design, Inc. (HSD), a leading full-service design and product development firm specializing in medical, healthcare, and life sciences, is excited to announce the promotion of Michael Quinn to the position of Vice President of Design and Engineering.  In his expanded leadership role, Mike is positioned to direct the capabilities of both the engineering and design team resulting in expanded collaboration and teamwork between the disciplines.

 Michael Quinn holds a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology and brings years of experience designing and developing medical devices.  In his previous role as Director of Engineering at HS Design, Mike helped HSD develop several award-winning devices, including HSD’s newest venture, the Sympfiny™ multiparticulate delivery system. His leadership led the team to win the Pediatric Open Innovation Challenge for the development of the system for dosing and dispensing multiparticulate formulations of pediatric drugs leading to the launch of the product with Röchling Group, a global Medical Plastics Manufacturer.   Additionally, for the last several years Mike has been the quality manager at HSD, managing the company through two BSI audits, leading to the successful transition to the newest revision of ISO 13485.

Prior to his time at HS Design, Mike was a member of the R&D team at Becton Dickinson.  At BD, Mike led the engineering teams in the development of the BD Vystra^TM, a disposable liquid pen injection device, and the BD Libertas^TM Patch Injector, along with numerous other devices.  In addition, Mike has over 24 patents for medical and other devices.   Mike is also a Design for Six Sigma certified Expert and sits on the External Advisory Board for Stevens Institute of Technology.
