Wired foot controls have been around for decades. Linemaster created its first wired foot switch in the 1950’s and have been adapting to customer requirements and incorporating technological advances ever since. To date, using copper conductors (physical wires) to transmit electronic signals is the most reliable way to transmit or receive data. Technological advancements with wire have helped control issues such as interference in the field. This interference has been remedied by the cable manufacturers by adding a shield to the cable, ultimately protecting the communication between the end users equipment and the attached foot pedal. The table below shows the Pros and the Cons of Wired foot controls.
