Additionally, the use of the vision system FOBA IMP (Intelligent Mark Positioning) ensures that only correct codes are marked on the correct parts and on the correct position of the part. The patented mark alignment and verification system IMP automatically detects the position of a device and aligns the marking/engraving content precisely as required. Optical verification is used to verify both laser marking content and position. Product waste and quality issues are reduced to a minimum and a reliable high-precision production process – without expensive production stops and time-consuming trial-and-error processes – is ensured.

Innovative marking of medical plastics
FOBA’s UV marking laser V.0020-uv is the ideal solution for the marking of medical plastics, most sensitive products such as catheters or invasive devices such as cannulas or insulin pumps that need to be sterilized. The so called cold laser markings produced by the ultraviolet laser marker meet the requirements for strict hygiene and invasive applications. V.0020-uv works with minimum heat and colorizes the material’s surface only photo-chemically instead of foaming it. It achieves high-contrast and easily readable marks but the material’s surface remains plain and damage-free. Germs are hindered from sticking onto the material, and material substances are prevented from finding their way into the human body. Even previously un-markable materials such as white polyamides or silicones can be laser-marked with FOBA’s V.0020-uv.
