CleanCut Technologies to exhibit at MD&M West 2016

ANAHEIM, Calif., (January 25, 2016) — CleanCut Technologies is exhibiting at MD&M West 2016 Feb. 9 through Feb. 11 in Booth #1565, highlighting its extensive packaging products and solutions compliant with European Parliament and Council Directive 94/62/EC. This directive harmonizes national measures concerning the management of packaging and packaging waste and to encourage the recovery, re-use and recycling of packaging materials.

“When designing and manufacturing custom product retention and packaging for our medical device OEM customers, we approach each project with the mindset to not only make the packaging safe, sterile and durable, but to also reduce material footprints and optimize the overall recyclability of the packaging once it’s no longer needed,” said Brian Whalen, Director of Sales & Customer Relations.

One of the products CCT will highlight at MD&M West is its award-winning patented Dispenser Integrated Systems Kit (DISK) for coiled guidewire and catheters. The DISK minimizes packaging by eliminating the need for costly injection molded clips to retain the guidewire or catheter. The coil is instead thermally bonded to a biocompatible High Density Polyethylene die-cut backer card, which provides additional protection, and also retains procedurally-related components (such as syringes, luers and needles etc.), along with the coil in one efficient package.

This packaging approach offers a reduction in dispenser size, reduction in backer card size, reduction in pouch size, reduction in shelf carton size, and a reduction in master cartons – which all result in an overall lowered materials and production cost. This design meets the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (94/62/EC and 2004/12/EC) for limiting packaging weight and volume, while meeting green initiatives for the utilization of recyclable packaging materials.
