PASO ROBLES, CALIF. – May 1, 2013 – IQMS, a manufacturing ERP software and MES developer with an ongoing, proactive commitment to its product and relationships, today announced that Rebling Power Connectors has selected IQMS as its new manufacturing ERP and MES software solution. For more than four decades, Rebling Power Connectors has been manufacturing high current battery receptacles and disconnectors for the aviation sector and defense land vehicles, in addition to its custom thermoplastic and thermoset moldings for the medical, consumer products and automotive industries.
Most recently, Rebling Power Connectors was involved in the solution to the lithium battery fires that grounded the Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet and halted production. Working directly with Boeing engineers, Rebling Power Connectors offered its engineering experience and new 7009 Hi Temperature connector technology to assist Boeing in finding a containment solution to return the Dreamliner to the air and Boeing back to full production.
Rebling Power Connectors was struggling with a common manufacturing challenge: Too many disconnected software systems required to run its business. Between Access Database©, an obsolete MRP system and numerous spreadsheets to track quality, Rebling Power Connectors was arduously entering production data multiple times across its considerable systems to comply with ISO 9001 requirements.
“We have a very old legacy system, so everything was painful,” said Nate Bower, president at Rebling Power Connectors. “When considering ERP packages, there were some specific pieces to our manufacturing operations that the other systems didn’t address. They offered more of a band-aid workaround, rather than the built-in industry-specific features IQMS offers.”
Rebling Power Connectors is in the process of becoming AS9100 certified. The company will use IQMS’ extended, completely integrated ERP and MES system, EnterpriseIQ, to access its data in one common location. In addition, Rebling Power Connectors plans to take advantage of EnterpriseIQ’s enhanced document control and quality process management tools, wireless warehouse management and inventory control and the RealTime™ Production Monitoring system.
